The Best Mounts for Land, Air, and Water
Jul 10, 2026
The fastest mounts in Palworld 1.0, ranked by ride speed, so you can grab the right ride for the sky, the ground, or the water.
A good mount changes the whole game. Suddenly the map shrinks, and the trek you were dreading becomes a thirty-second hop. In Palworld 1.0 the trick is matching the right ride to where you're headed — the sky, the ground, or the water.
Why mounts matter more in 1.0
1.0 added the sprawling new World Tree region, so there's more ground, sky, and water to cover than ever. A fast, reliable mount isn't a luxury out there — it's how you keep exploring without burning your whole evening on travel. Better still, some mounts can fight while you ride, which turns a travel pick into a combat pick.
What makes a mount worth saddling
Three things decide it:
- Speed — how fast it actually moves once you're riding.
- Terrain — a flyer, a land runner, and a swimmer each solve a completely different problem.
- Utility — its element and stamina, plus whether it can fight or work while it carries you.
Speed is the one you can rank cleanly, so that's where we'll start. For terrain, every Pal's page tells you whether it flies, runs, or swims — always worth a peek before you commit.
The fastest mounts in 1.0
Ranked by ride speed, these are the quickest Pals to saddle up in 1.0:
Jetragon sits at the top for good reason — it's the fastest flyer in the game, and once it's in your stable it becomes the ride you reach for by default.
Picking for the skies, the ground, and the water
Here's the honest part: several of these are new to 1.0, and terrain matters as much as the raw ranking. A blazing-fast swimmer does you no good on a mountain trail.
- Air: Jetragon is the go-to flyer — nothing covers open distance faster. Frostallion is another top-tier set of wings if you want a backup in the air.
- Land: For overland runs you want a mount that's quick and handles rough terrain. Several Pals on the list above fit the bill — open each one's page to see how it rides before you pick.
- Water: Crossing open ocean calls for a dedicated swimmer. A Pal's page will tell you straight up whether it's built for the water, so check before you ride out to the coast.
That one habit — reading the mount type on a Pal's page — saves you from hauling a land runner to a shoreline and realizing it can't swim.
A few tips before you ride
- Stamina matters as much as speed. A slightly slower mount that doesn't gas out mid-trip can be faster over a long haul.
- Keep one of each. A flyer, a runner, and a swimmer in your box means you're never stuck at the water's edge.
- Level your favorite. Condensing and leveling a mount you love beats constantly swapping between fresh catches.
