Mining & Ore Guide: Best Diggers and Where to Mine

Jul 10, 2026

Ore fuels every base — here are the fastest diggers in Palworld 1.0 and how to find every node worth mining.

Ore is the backbone of every serious base — weapons, armor, and most upgrades all trace back to it. This guide covers the Pals that break rock fastest and where to point them, now that Palworld 1.0 has opened up whole new places to dig.

The best mining Pals

Mining suitability is what lets a Pal smash ore nodes into usable material. Ranked strongest first:

A couple of these pull double duty, which is a real gift on a cramped base: Blazamut also handles Kindling, and Anubis is one of the best Handiwork Pals in the game, so either one earns its keep between digs. Want to see exactly how your own crew stacks up? The workforce tool ranks every Pal you own for Mining, so you're not guessing.

Where to mine

Ore nodes aren't spread evenly — some biomes are far richer than others, and hauling from a thin patch is a waste of a base slot. The quickest way to find the good spots is the Ore layer on our interactive map: toggle it on and known nodes light up, so you can scout a cluster before you commit to building there.

Look for tight groups of nodes rather than lone rocks. A dense pocket lets a couple of Pals work in parallel and keeps your outpost productive around the clock.

New in 1.0: sky islands and the World Tree

Palworld 1.0 didn't just add Pals — it added ground to mine. The new World Tree region and the sky-island areas brought fresh ore nodes that simply weren't in the game before. If you've been away since launch, those are worth a survey run; there's material up there you won't find down below. It all shows up on the map's Ore layer as you uncover the world.

Building a mining outpost

When you find a rich cluster, drop a base right on top of it and staff it deliberately:

  • Assign two or three strong Mining Pals so nodes get worked at once instead of one at a time.
  • Add a Transporting Pal so mined ore actually reaches your chests instead of piling up on the ground.
  • Keep beds and food close — a hungry or worn-out miner slows to a crawl and your output tanks.

Not sure who to send? Let the workforce ranker sort your options by Mining, then assign your top few to the outpost and check back when the boxes are full.

Keep the ore flowing

Mining is usually a base's first real bottleneck, so it pays to treat it like a supply line, not a chore. Give your miners a dedicated outpost instead of cramming them in with everything else, and let the storage fill while you're off exploring. Come back, empty the chests, and the whole loop starts over — steady ore with almost no babysitting.

Where to go next

Open the map and flip on the Ore layer to plan your next dig, then keep the workforce tool handy for staffing the base once you break ground.
