Sootseer

Sootseer is a rare Fire/Dark dual-type, entry #135 in the Paldeck — bringing the heat, strong into Grass but wary of Water. It sits in the M size class and is a night owl, most active after dark. In the field guide's words: “It was once believed that as the world approached its end, the flame would weaken. Doomsayers would repeatedly rejoice when the flame began to weaken, but in the end, it turned out to be a prank by <characterName id=|CandleGhost|/>. At least, for now.”

In a scrap, Sootseer brings around 100 Attack, 90 Defense and 105 HP — it's a balanced pick that won't let you down. Back at base it earns its keep with Farming (Lv 2), Gathering (Lv 2), Handiwork (Lv 3), Kindling (Lv 3), and Mining (Lv 3), so it's as useful at home as it is out on the trail.

Defeat or capture one and you can expect drops like Bone, Medium Pal Soul, and Crude Oil. It also plays into special breeding combos — pair it up in the breeding calculator to see what hatches.
