Catch-rate calculator
Weigh up your odds before you throw. Compare every sphere for a Pal and see how much lowering its HP, a back throw, or a nap swings the catch in your favour.
About the catch-rate calculator
Throwing spheres blindly wastes resources and lets good Pals get away. This calculator helps you weigh the throw first: pick the Pal, the sphere you're holding, and roughly how much HP the target has left, and it estimates your chance — then lines up every sphere side by side so you can see whether it's worth switching to a stronger one or knocking off a bit more HP before you commit.
A note on honesty, because it matters: Palworld's capture formula has never been published by Pocketpair and isn't stored in the game's data files, so unlike our breeding, passive and IV tools — which compute exact, verifiable numbers — the catch percentage here is a considered estimate rather than a datamined certainty. What we can be exact about is baked in: each sphere's real capture power (a Pal Sphere is 7, a Mega 14, right up to an Ultimate at 43), each Pal's base capture rate pulled from the game data, and the direction and rough weight of every modifier. That means the comparison between spheres and situations is trustworthy even where the precise figure is a ballpark — so lean on the relative picture when you're deciding what to throw.
The biggest thing you can do is lower the target's HP — it swings the odds more than anything else — followed by using a higher-tier sphere, landing a back throw, catching a Pal while it sleeps, and upgrading your capture power with Lifmunk Effigies at a Statue of Power (find them on the map). Chasing a specific Pal? The interactive map shows where each one spawns, and the IV checker tells you whether the one you caught was worth keeping.
Good to know
How accurate is the percentage?
Treat it as a ballpark. Pocketpair never published the capture formula and it isn't in the game files, so — unlike our breeding and IV tools — the exact number can't be verified. What is exact here: the sphere powers, each Pal's base capture rate, and the direction of every modifier, so the comparison between spheres and situations is reliable.
What actually raises my catch chance?
Lowering the Pal's HP is the biggest lever, followed by using a stronger sphere. A back throw, catching it while it sleeps, and upgrading capture power with Lifmunk Effigies at a Statue of Power all help too.
Do alphas and bosses count?
Alpha (field boss) Pals are much harder to catch — bring your strongest spheres and get their HP as low as you safely can.
