Palworld Awakening Guide: Radiant Gems, Crystals, and Waking Up Your Pals

Jul 18, 2026

Awakening is Palworld 1.0's endgame power system. Here's how to unlock it, farm Radiant Gems, and craft the Awakening Crystals that wake your Pals up.

If you've cleared the towers and you're staring at a maxed-out team wondering now what? ÔÇö Awakening is the answer. It's Palworld 1.0's endgame power system, built to push your Pals past the limits that used to be the ceiling. Here's how the whole thing works, start to finish.

What Awakening is

Awakening is the 1.0 endgame loop in three moves: farm element-typed Radiant Gems in the World Tree region, craft them into Awakening Crystals, and use those crystals to wake up your best Pals. It's a grind, but a predictable one ÔÇö every ingredient is farmable, and the recipe never changes.

Unlocking it: the short version

Awakening lives behind the World Tree, and the World Tree lives behind a questline.

  • Defeat every tower boss across all three regions ÔÇö Palpagos, Feybreak, and Sunreach.
  • Craft the Echoing Flute from the four echobones: marine, seafoam, silent, and tidewind.
  • Use the flute at the Deserted Islet to summon Panthalus, the giant whale Pal, then beat it or catch it.
  • Drop the barrier at the World Tree terminal, and you're in.

That's the whole chain ÔÇö we walk through every step in detail in our World Tree unlock guide.

Radiant Gems: the farm

Radiant Gems are element-typed items found in the World Tree region, and the sourcing rule is simple: World Tree Pals drop the gem matching their own element. Fire-types drop Fire Radiant Gems, Water-types drop Water Radiant Gems, and so on across all nine elements. Defeating a Pal counts and catching it counts, so if you're still filling out your collection, catch away ÔÇö you get the gem either way. The same loop also drops World Tree Holy Water, and you'll want plenty of it.

One honest caveat: the exact gem drop rates aren't in the game's standard drop tables ÔÇö we checked the 1.0 DataTables ourselves. Any gems-per-hour figures you see out there are community-reported estimates, so give your farming plans a little slack.

Crafting an Awakening Crystal

The recipe is fixed: 50 Radiant Gems of one element plus 10 World Tree Holy Water makes one Awakening Crystal of that element, crafted at the Ancient Workbench. The workbench unlocks at technology level 67 and costs 5 tech points. Every element has its own crystal ÔÇö a Fire Awakening Crystal for your flamethrowers, a Dragon Awakening Crystal for the dragons, and so on through all nine.

Waking a Pal up

No altar, no ceremony. Put the target Pal in your party, open your inventory, and use the matching-element Awakening Crystal on it. The element has to match ÔÇö a Dragon crystal won't do a thing for your Grass Pal.

Where to point your farm

Pick the Pal you're awakening first, then hunt its element ÔÇö fifty gems is a commitment, and splitting your attention across three elements gets you three unfinished crystals. The World Tree's wild Pals sit at level 80, so bring a team that's ready for it, and keep an eye out for Astralym, the World Tree's own dragon Pal, while you work the loop.

Once your first crystal is ready and your favorite Pal is standing a little taller, come holler ÔÇö and until then, crack the region open with the World Tree unlock walkthrough, hit the cap fast with our level 80 leveling guide, and plan your farming routes on the interactive map.
