How to Unlock the World Tree in Palworld 1.0 (Panthalus Questline)

Jul 18, 2026

Clear the towers, craft the Echoing Flute, call up Panthalus, and drop the barrier ÔÇö the full path to Palworld 1.0's World Tree region.

The World Tree is Palworld 1.0's final region ÔÇö a proper region on the world map in its own right ÔÇö and it stays sealed behind a barrier until you finish the Panthalus questline. None of the steps are complicated on their own, but the chain is long, so here's the whole thing laid out in order.

Step 1 ÔÇö Clear every tower boss

The road to the World Tree starts with every tower boss across all three regions: Palpagos, Feybreak, and Sunreach. Yes, all of them, and yes, that includes the sky islands' own tower ÔÇö if you haven't made the trip up to Sunreach yet, our Sunreach guide covers getting there and what to expect. This is the long pole of the whole unlock, so clear them at your own pace and don't be shy about over-leveling.

Step 2 ÔÇö Craft the Echoing Flute

Next up is the Echoing Flute, crafted from four echobones ÔÇö each one its own item:

As for where the bones come from: community guides consistently place all four at giant sea-creature skeletons around the Palpagos coastline ÔÇö you climb into (or onto) the skull and interact with a glowing pillar ÔÇö near the Hill of Beginning, the Eternal Pyre tower, the Altar of the Wind Caller, and the Land of Absolute Zero, respectively. Players also report the flute itself crafts at any workbench once the quest hands you its schematic. We're labeling all of that community-reported, honestly, because exact pickup spots aren't something we can confirm straight from the game's data files.

Step 3 ÔÇö Summon Panthalus at the Deserted Islet

Take the finished flute to the Deserted Islet and use it. The sea answers: up rises Panthalus, a whale Pal roughly the size of the weather. Beating it advances the quest ÔÇö and so does catching it. Panthalus is a real Paldeck entry, so if you're chasing completion, catching is clearly the move: same quest progress, one more entry filled in.

Step 4 ÔÇö Drop the barrier at the World Tree terminal

With Panthalus handled, head to the World Tree terminal and drop the barrier. That's the whole ceremony ÔÇö the World Tree opens up as its own region, map and all.

What's waiting inside

  • Level-80 wild Pals ÔÇö bring your best team, not your second-best.
  • Radiant Gems and World Tree Holy Water ÔÇö the raw ingredients of Awakening.
  • New World Tree ore nodes for your mining routes.
  • Astralym, the World Tree's own dragon Pal.

The barrier dropping isn't the finish line, in other words ÔÇö it's the door to 1.0's real endgame loop, and everything inside is tuned for a team that earned its way there.

Now that the door's open, head into our Awakening and Radiant Gems guide to put the region to work ÔÇö and if Sunreach's tower is still standing between you and Step 1, the sky islands guide will get you up there.
