Palworld 1.0 Leveling Guide: The Honest Road to Level 80

Jul 18, 2026

No grinding myths ÔÇö a stage-by-stage road to Palworld's new level 80 cap, from catch bonuses to dungeons, Sunreach, the World Tree, and relic recycling.

Palworld 1.0 raised the level cap to 80, and the road there is longer than the old grind ÔÇö but it's honest work if you take it in stages. No secret tricks here, no "one weird dungeon": just the arc that actually moves the bar, and where the community's early favorites fit into it.

Early Levels: Catch Everything That Moves

Early levels come fast from three things: catching, tech progression, and story and tower objectives. Catching is the engine ÔÇö Palworld has always paid bonus XP for catching multiples of each species (the classic catch-ten-of-each mechanic), so filling out your paldeck early is the leveling strategy. One note: some early 1.0 guides report the bonus now maxes out at fewer catches per species than it used to ÔÇö around five ÔÇö though we're still verifying that ourselves. Either way the advice holds: catch first, ask questions later. And when spheres get scarce, the catch calculator tells you your real odds before you throw.

Mid-Game: Dungeons, Alphas, and Towers

The middle stretch leans on dungeons, alpha bosses, and expedition-style content. Bosses matter double here: beyond the XP, first-kills pay Ancient Technology Points, the currency for the endgame tech tree ÔÇö the Wing Pack alone costs 9 points at level 80. So work through every tower and alpha you can reach on the way up; the map has alpha and dungeon layers, which makes it easy to route a clean sweep instead of wandering.

Late Game: Sunreach, Then the World Tree

The late-game accelerators are Sunreach and then the World Tree, where wild Pals sit around level 80 and drop endgame materials ÔÇö every fight up there pays you twice, in XP and in crafting stock. When mid-game pacing starts to sag, that's your cue to push for the sky islands; our Sunreach guide covers the route in.

Let the Base Carry Its Share

While you're out catching and clearing, your base can be earning too. Players consistently report that Ancient Relic Recycler processing adds steady XP on top of its loot ÔÇö we haven't timed it ourselves, so treat the pace as community-reported, but it costs you nothing to keep it running on relics you'd otherwise hoard. The workforce planner helps you staff it without starving your other production lines.

The Loop the Community Swears By

We promised no myths, so here's the week-one consensus with its label on. As players describe it, the loop is: stack capture bonuses by rotating onto fresh species, clear missions as the quest tracker hands them out, capture rather than kill alphas and dungeon bosses for the bigger payout, and keep a crafting queue running at base for passive XP the whole time. Late game, those same players point to World Tree wilds plus recycler processing as the steadiest repeatable engine in 1.0. We haven't stopwatch-tested any of it, so be skeptical of anyone quoting exact XP-per-hour ÔÇö pacing shifts with your world settings anyway. What we can say is that the shape of the loop matches how the game hands out XP, and it beats mindlessly farming one spot. When you finally crack 80, come holler at the community ÔÇö we like a good ding.

Level 80 is where 1.0 really opens up, so here's your next stop: unlock the World Tree, run your hoard through the Ancient Relic Recycler, and go earn the Wing Pack you've been eyeing.
